Ambassador Fujiyama was born in the Wakayama Prefecture. He graduated from Faculty of Law, Kyoto University. In 1984, he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA); 1997 First Secretary Embassy of Japan in the USA; 2000 Counsellor, Cabinet Legislation Bureau; 2003 Director, Japan-U.S. Security Treaty Division, North American Affairs Bureau, MOFA; 2005 Director, Public Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Korea; 2007 Minister, Embassy of Japan in Germany; 2010 Director, Regional Policy Division, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, MOFA; 2012 Counsellor, Office of Cabinet Secretariat; 2014 Minister, Embassy of Japan in Germany; 2016 Deputy Chief of Mission, in Germany; 2017 Director General, International Affairs Department, House of Representatives of Japan; 2019 Ambassador to Uzbekistan; 2022 Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
