This first SJCC After Work in the French-speaking part of Switzerland will be an opportunity to get acquainted with EPFL’s ArtLab initiative and its forthcoming “Under One Roof” building, designed with renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.

With ArtLab and the Under One Roof building, EPFL aims to bring science, technology and the arts closer on campus: as the school ramps up its research&education offerings in the field of the Digital Humanities, it felt the need to also develop its own platform for interdisciplinary public programs on campus.

Developed from 2012 on and set to be inaugurated at the end of 2016, the Kengo Kuma-designed “Under One Roof” building will host three distinct spaces all dedicated to specific tech + arts/culture intersections.

SJCC Scholarship alumnus and current Head of Content for EPFL ArtLab, Luc Meier will present the components that make up EPFL’s overall strategy for tech-culture intersections, before taking participants for a tour on the construction site of Under One Roof.
