On 21 August, SJCC Members and friends will meet in Liechtenstein to get insights in the two most important sectors of the economy of the Principality: Finance and Industry.
About 40% of employees in Liechtenstein work in the industrial sector. Industry, combined with manufacturing, produces about 40% of the country‘s annual gross value added. Many industrial firms based in Liechtenstein operate in highly specialised niche markets, such as Neutrik AG in Schaan, and have become global leaders in their respective fields thanks to intensive research and development.
Almost all goods manufactured in Liechtenstein are intended for export. Each year, goods worth over CHF 3 billion are exported. Because of the customs union with Switzerland – since 1923 -, this does not include exports to Switzerland.
Liechtenstein is also famous for its role as a financial centre with strong institutions and well recognised capacity to master economic and regulatory challenges.
