Campus Biotech is a Swiss center of excellence in biotechnology and life sciences research focusing on Neuroscience & Neurotechnology, Digital Health and Global Health.

Founded in 2013 by a Consortium composed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the Bertarelli Family and Hansjörg Wyss, the Campus functions like a giant incubator and focuses on pure science and its translation into real solutions and practical outcomes that have an impact on society and the world. Campus Biotech is an affiliated member of Switzerland Innovation Park-Network West EPFL.

Part of the Campus Biotech is the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering, is an independent, not for profit, organization that provides the resources, facilities and expertise required to transform creative neuroscience research into clinical solutions that will improve the lives of people with nervous system disorders.

Our host, Dr. Benoit Dubuis, has more than 20 years of international experience in the field of life sciences, both in industry and in academic science management. After his training as a chemical engineer, a PhD from ETH Zurich (ETH Medal 1995) and academic research positions in Cambridge and Cranfield in England, he occupied different management positions in pharmaceutical companies, including Chemap, Ciba-Geigy/Novartis and Lonza. He established the EPFL School of Life Sciences and served as its first Dean. He also launched the BioAlps life sciences network and founded the biotech company Excellgene SA. In 2004 he co-founded Eclosion, the first Swiss life sciences seed-fund and incubator.
