Meet Luca Orduña, Managing Director and Partner at SwissPrimeBrands in Japan in the 6th edition of this series.

Luca Orduña’s Japan journey started right after he graduated from the University of St. Gallen, when he was awarded the SJCC scholarship. Following six months of Japanese language studies, he did a one-year internship at a Japanese distribution company for Swiss Luxury watches in Tokyo.

During this time, the idea and desire of starting his own business grew stronger, and after completing his internship, he founded together with three business partners, ‘SwissPrimeBrands’. SwissPrimeBrands exclusively distributes high-end watch and jewelry brands over Asia with offices in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Luca Orduña is in charge of founding the Japanese K.K. in 2014 and since then managing the Japanese market where his company is exclusively importing and representing six watch brands and one jewelry brand, among other Carl F. Bucherer, Romain Gauthier, and QLOCKTWO.

Besides his work, Luca Orduña is on the Executive Committee of the SCCIJ, where he is mainly taking care of the scholarship program.
