The purpose of this Lunch & Learn series is to present, each time, a Japanese prefecture or region.

Niigata is a prefecture located in the Chūbu region along the Sea of Japan. It is famous for its high quality rice and sake, beautiful coastal and mountain scenery, spectacular fireworks in summer, skiing in winter and hot spring baths throughout the year.

Our special guest speaker is Mélusine Perrier, who, after studying Japanese at the University of Geneva, has worked for three years in the little town of Myoko in Niigata Prefecture between 2014-17 as part of the JET programme. There she worked as English teacher and cultural intermediary between Switzerland and Japan. After her stay in Japan, Mélusine completed a master in management at the University of St. Gallen and is now project manager and consultant at Switzerland Global Enterprise. She is also committee member of the newly created JETAA Switzerland Association.

We look forward to meeting you virtually!
